House tours, renovation projects, small-space living, budget solutions: there’s hardly an aspect of interior design that this blog doesn’t cover. With a mission to help people make their homes ‘more beautiful, organised and healthy’, creator Maxwell Ryan uses the blog to share achievable, cost-effective decorating ideas. Photography focuses on US-based spaces that have a casual, laid-back feel.
Blogger Will Taylor, who set up Bright Bazaar in 2009, describes himself as ‘unashamedly hooked on hue’. His site bears out that claim: colour-themed inspiration comes in the form of regularly updated ‘Palette Addict’ and ‘Colour Cocktail’ categories; alongside these are posts about entertaining, travel, new homeware collections and more.
Lucy Meek began blogging her ‘scrapbook of ideas’ when decorating her rented London flat in 2013. Decorenvy has evolved into an invaluable source of inspiration, including everything from do-it-yourself projects to ingenious decorating ideas.
We’ve been avid followers of Stockholm-based stylist Emma Fexeus’s blog since it launched in 2005, so we were delighted when she officially entered the international ELLE Decoration family this year, co-branding her site with our sister title in Sweden. The blog is an inexhaustible source of design and decorating inspiration.
This is a beautiful blog by stylist, photographer and foodie Beth Kirby. ‘The pictures will make you swoon; the recipes always have me reaching for my linen apron and enamelled cookware,’ says stylist Amanda Smith-Corston.
Ollie and Seb’s Haus
Deborah Gordon’s background in design and visual merchandising has given her an eye for inspiring photography. We’d describe her style as monochrome minimal, as seen in the shots of her white-walled family home in Glasgow.
Run by New-York based photographer, illustrator and director Todd Selby, this compelling blog conveys the personalities of the people it features by posting inspiring storyboards of images alongside handwritten Q&As that interviewees have filled in. Big names such as Zandra Rhodes sit alongside people with more unusual lifestyles, such as the owners of a New Zealand buffalo farm.
The Style Files
Titled ‘your daily dose of design inspiration’, this enchanting blog features interiors from around the world, with a bias towards those with a cool, laid-back European aesthetic. The blog is authored by Danielle de Lange, who also runs Le Souk, an online store for modern and handmade homeware finds.
