Last Chance: The Barbican’s Magnificent Obsessions

May 22, 2015 / OLD news posts

It’s the last weekend to catch the Magnificent Obesessions: The Artist as Collector exhibition at London’s Barbican Centre and to bag exclusive pieces from the exhibition shop inspired by artists’ collections (a number of the items are shown above).

The exhibition presents personal collections of post-war and contemporary artists including Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Peter Blake with pieces ranging from mass-produced memorabilia to rare artefacts and natural history specimens.

Items at the Barbican Shop complement the exhibition and include a specially commissioned print by illustrator, Rose Blake, daughter of featured artist Peter Blake and ceramic wall hangings by Maison Monade. A selection is also available online: barbican.org.uk/visitor-information/shops
