Opened today by Sir Terence Conran, the new Design Museum shop on Kensington High Street offers one of the best edits of design classics we’ve seen.
The shop, designed by architect John Pawson, serves as a taster for the new Design Museum, which is due to open in its new site nearby on 24 November – read more about the new museum in #EDUKAugust15 on sale now. As worth a visit as the gallery itself, this small gem of a store displays products on Vitra fixtures and Dieter Rams’ Vitsoe ‘606’ shelving.
Deyan Sudjic, director of the Design Museum describes new new shop as ‘The museum’s ambassador on the high street, always changing, always full of fascinating things, displayed with style, and staffed by people who live and breathe design.’ We can’t wait to visit. 224-238 Kensington High Street, London (designmuseumshop.com).
