Underground-inspired tables by Mini Moderns

September 14, 2015 / OLD news posts

British pattern maestros Mini Moderns have produced a pair of side tables inspired by the colours of two London Underground lines. The ‘Hammersmith and City’ (pink) and ‘Waterloo and City’ (turquoise) tables feature hairpin legs and stripe details in the colour of their respective lines on the Tube map. The ‘P.L.U.T.O’ background print – coloured in a utilitarian grey that reflects Tube tunnels – takes inspiration from the ‘dazzle’ camouflage patterns used by the British and US military during WW1 and WW2. Created exclusively for Transport for London, the tables are made to order and are each available in two sizes and heights. From £1,014 for a 750x750mm table (minimoderns.com).
