Vanderhurd to launch ‘Amelia Truss’ collection

The first collaboration between Vanderhurd’s creative director Christine Van Der Hurd and her son-in-law Jacob Van Horn, the ‘Amelia Truss’ collection explores the relationship between art, craft and design. Inspiration came from the work of American artist Sol LeWitt, whose large wall drawing have a rigid geometry pulsating with staccato lines.

Crafted using 85 per cent linen yarns, the rugs are produced on a vertical loom using the sumac tapestry technique – stronger and thicker than a kilim, but with a similarly embroidery-like pattern and textured reverse.

Launching in May, the softly geometric design comes in five colourways, each blending subtly complementary tones.
