The ‘House of Dust’ in Rome showcases how to combine shades of grey in the home by experimenting with a mix of materials such as concrete, marble, plaster and stone. Architect Antonino Cardillo, who designed the interior, has created a multilayered, textured interior: a rough-plastered ceiling is matched with smooth grey walls, which also run into the floor, and simple furniture such as a marble table and light-grey seating. A grey washed wooden square in the middle of the space gives the illusion of a textiled rug.
