2Mathieu Lehanneur at Maison & Objet
© Felipe RibonIt was perhaps a surprise to nobody when Lehanneur was named Maison & Objet’s Designer of the Year 2024. Afterall, he is the man behind this year’s Olympic torch (currently traversing the globe ahead of the ceremony on 26 July). Make an appointment and you can head to his studio, The Factory (pictured), to see his latest designs, but also make time to stop by his ‘Outonomy’ project in Hall 7 of the Maison & Objet fair – it explores, he says, the idea of ‘an ecosystem of life both minimal and optimal’. mathieulehanneur.fr

8Lemon
Lemon FurnitureThose heading to the Maison & Objet showcase will be treated to a theatrical furniture display by Lemon – a furniture brand that partners with up-and-coming designers, artists and craftspeople. The star of its display in Paris this week is Yaniv Chen, a South African designer whose work is cherished for the sense of nostalgia it creates. A highlight is the ‘Drapery’ table – made from a single slab of travertine, it was inspired by an entrance hall table photographed by Nan Golding that reminded Chen of his grandmother’s home. lemonfurniture.co
