The arrival of this year’s London Craft Week could not be more timely. Coming as it does a mere two weeks after the announcement that another of Stoke-On-Trent’s historic potteries is closing down, there could not be a better time to support and promote the best artisans and craftspeople in the country and beyond. It may feel like a sector of the design industry that is rather under siege, but the truth is that creativity and enthusiasm for the handmade is in rude health.

Returning now for its 11th year, London Craft Week, which opens today (12 May) and runs until the 17th, is a festival that has grown massively over the years. From small shows in hidden workshops to exhibitions in the V&A, this is a festival that is vast in its scale. This year alone there are more than 200 events on the London Craft Week map. For those that want to show their support, but don’t have time to traverse everything the festival has to offer, we’ve narrowed it down to an edit of 11 events that the ELLE Decoration reader is guaranteed to love. Go, show your support!

Selfish Customs, London Craft Week 2025

Now in its third year, this London Craft Week must-see is moving to 83 Rivington Street in Shoreditch. There you will find the work of more than 50 talented artisans – some of whom have never been showcased in the UK before. Keep a look out for endangered crafts like lapidary (the art of cutting, shaping and polishing stones), as well as the work of our top picks: Selfish Customs, whose eco-resin seat is pictured, and Catalin Filip, the mastermind behind the sculptural ceramic lights and stools shown above. futureicons.co.uk

Beton Brut, London Craft Week 2025

Subheaded ‘Hands at work from iron to paper’ this group show, curated by one of our favourite design galleries, introduces the work of metalworker Salvino Marsura. The Italian artisan sadly died in 2020, so Béton Brut is hoping this showcase at No.9 Cork Street will gain him the notoriety his work deserves. Pieces by Marsura will be shown alongside David Horan’s ‘Paper’ furniture collection for the gallery (pictured). betonbrut.co.uk

The studio led by designer and sculptor duo Emma and Tobias Peascod will be presenting new limited-edition mirrors at the South Kensington institution. Produced in their Somerset workshop, the pieces are a contemporary take on British Rococo style, with the hand-sculpted jesmonite frames drawing inspiration from the delicate and untamed beauty of nature – feathers, thorns, and leaves. peascod.studio

The luxury Italian furniture brand has collaborated with Selma Feriani Gallery to present this exhibition at its London showroom (245–246 Brompton Road). There are many parallels between Swinburn’s work – creating sculptural paper compositions by weaving together scraps of vintage documents – and Molteni & C’s own dedication to craft excellence. molteni.it

Marbing maestro Natascha Maksimovic (aka Nat Maks) has collaborated with Brogan Cox, co-founder of Sebastian Cox, on a new collection of wooden tables that will be shown for the first time in a dedicated space at No.9 Cork Street. The designs are made from sycamore which, says Cox, ‘is considered a weed in some forestry circles, but is wonderfully tactile, pale and accepting of colour – perfect for this marbling process. It’s like giving a forgotten material a second life.’ sebastiancox.co.uk
