Close to the Champs-Élysées in Paris’ elegant 8th arrondissement lies Berri Residence, a two-bedroom apartment that has recently been transformed by Iconique Studio. The interior design firm was tasked with turning the property – which had been used infrequently as a pied-à-terre – into a functional space that was ideal for entertaining as well as feeling like a comfortable home.
Founder Adriana Schor says: ‘We had to strike the perfect balance of a space that oozes sophistication without being pretentious, and maintaining a homely atmosphere. Through the total redesign of the property, we managed to form a new equilibrium in the apartment, maximising the space while celebrating both original features and modern accents.’
Spanning 92 square metres, the cosy apartment was adapted through the use of natural materials and colours, as well a dual-purpose design structures. One innovative example is the sequence of bespoke, mirrors that simultaneously separate and unite the living and dining areas.

Keeping the backdrop clean and neutral, the team restored the home’s original mouldings to a pristine white and laid oak parquet flooring on the bias. Custom designed joinery was crafted from unpolished oak, American walnut and travertine.
Off-white walls are offset by a berry red motif inspired by a Tracey Emin painting. This rich tone threads its way through the rooms, linking them together via painted archways, curtains and trims, upholstery and decorative elements, in textures including bouclés, tweeds and velvets for layered depth.
The designer framed the client’s own sketches and hung them above the fireplace in the living room, adding a personal, playful element to the scheme.
