Centre Point stands at the very heart of London, overlooking Soho, Bloomsbury and the West End. Designed by George Marsh of R. Seifert and Partners architects and completed in 1966, the lofty block stood vacant for years after its completion and was mainly office space until, in 2015, it was converted for residential use.
Almacantar, the property developers behind the landmark’s latest rebirth, commissioned Angel O’Donnell studio to design the interiors of the dual aspect Vantage apartment. Co-founders Richard Angel and Ed O’Donnell injected the blank canvas with plenty of character to allow prospective buyers to imagine living here.
A lift brings visitors into a large lobby with a dramatic painted mural on the ceiling and colourful artwork setting the tone for the rest of the apartment. There are three generous bedrooms, each with its own luxurious bathroom, all commanding spectacular views of the city.

The large open-plan living room leads onto a dining area, which is defined by an architectural bespoke screen with a built-in fireplace. The compact and functional kitchen overlooks the dining area, and to the other end of the living space is a small study that can be closed off with sliding doors.
Ed and his team drew on the building’s architecture – lines, honeycombs and shield shapes – to inform the bespoke furniture and material palette, and pulled colours and geometry directly from the cityscape into the rooms, creating an easy rhythm throughout the apartment and a synergy between inside and outside.
