If you’ve yet to start thinking about your Christmas shopping, may we point you in the direction of the Savoy? Unusually, one of London’s grandest hotels has now become a luxury shopping destination, thanks to Gucci’s new (and typically chic) pop-up.
‘Gucci Valigeria’, situated on the ground floor of the Savoy, is home to the exclusive Gucci ‘Savoy’ collection of luggage, including trunks, suitcases, holdalls and garment bags. There’s also a covetable selection of pieces from Gucci’s lifestyle line, from chess sets and stationery to pet accessories and even branded skateboards, so you're sure to find something for even the most discerning friend.
The Savoy has had a longstanding history with the fashion house ever since the late 1800s, when a young Guccio Gucci worked as a porter and lift attendant at the hotel. It’s said to be where he fell in love with travel, as he was inspired by the glamorous guests checking in and out and. Their stash of incredible luggage propelled him to start his own leather goods brand in 1921.

Last year, in celebration of the brand’s 100-year anniversary, Gucci transformed the Savoy’s Royal Suite into a fashion palace that's heaven for stylish guests. Furniture and decoration from Gucci Décor sits alongside specially chosen art and antiquities from auctioneers Christie's (all available for purchase). Guests also get access to a dedicated butler, use of the Savoy’s famous Rolls Royce and unparalleled views from the suite, which spans the length of the hotel's fifth floor.
Whether you’re looking to pick up the ultimate stocking filler or book a once-in-a-lifetime city stay, it doesn’t get better than this. When it comes to gifting this Christmas, from small trinkets to extravagant gestures, the only way is Gucci.
The Gucci Valigeria pop-up at The Savoy is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10am to 7pm, and Sundays from 12pm to 6pm. The Gucci Suite at The Savoy is available to book now from £15,875.
