Launched by Swedish entrepreneur and creative Lisa Furuland Kotsianis last year, Lalande captures what we imagine life would be like if we were lucky enough to live somewhere along the picturesque stretch of the Greek Riviera. It’s all silky kaftans, architectural ceramics and velvet cushions in sunny Mediterranean colours.

‘Combining Scandinavian simplicity with Mediterranean joie de vivre, Lalande designs a universe of fine objects, textiles, and goods that hold the necessary space for moments of poetic contemplation, sensory delight, and emotional exuberance,’ the brand says.

Handmade in Greece, the capsule series toes the fine line between art and design. and produces a range of furniture, textiles and decorative objects designed to ‘turn places into spaces filled with personality’.

Take, for example, the studio’s gypsum pedestals and stone bottles. While they may appear as standalone decorative objects, they work as functional and contemporary homeware pieces, too: a place for your potted plant to perch or as a vase for a single-stem flower.

Among the highlights are ‘Bale’, an ottoman with leather straps inspired by traditional hay bales found all across the Mediterranean landscape, and the off-white ‘Angolo’ console table, for its ability to bring a little majesty to a corner nook. Its signature piece however is the swing, typically made with a wooden swing and a leather rope in a variety of colour options that comes with tassels and flowers that add extra embellishment. It’s everyday escapism at its very best. lalandeliving.com
