Bringing the outside in with botanical and leafy motifs is a sure-fire way to create a sanctuary-like space. Bathrooms are ideal spaces to experiment with bolder colour and pattern choices, given they are usually smaller spaces ripe for experimentation with unexpected decorative flourishes. These homes are guaranteed to provide the ultimate botanics-inspired ideas for a bathroom refresh.

This compact bathroom is the perfect example of how to play with bold pattern in a confined space. Ananbô’s ‘Koh Chang’ wallpaper creates a tropical oasis and is complemented by solid oak strips of wood panelling. The basin is a bespoke design, which has been paired with a tap from Axor, and a touch of retro flair is added by way of a 1960s mirror by Hillebrand.

This Somerset home exudes maximalism with beautifully layered textiles. Jewellery designer Solange Azagury-Partridge is renowned for her vibrant use of colour and pattern, and her countryside home proved to be the ultimate canvas for experimentation. In the bathroom a traditional freestanding tub is set against one of the more modern patterns in this home: the ‘Martinique Banana Leaf’ wallpaper. Originally used in the Beverly Hills Hotel, it’s a modern classic, available at Designer Wallcoverings.

Architecture studio OUI blends a traditional Parisian aesthetic with elements of modern American style in this 1930s property. Of all the stunning art deco features that remain in the home, perhaps the bathroom is the most splendid. The studio kept it largely unchanged; the only intervention by OUI was to add frosted-glass doors in the arches, which lead to a shower and toilet. Bina Baitel designed the glass ‘Sublime’ ottoman as part of a collaboration with Glass Variations.

The bespoke basin is made from ABC Stone’s ‘White Beauty’, while ‘Silver Mist’ paint by Benjamin Moore brings a blue-sky feel to the hallway at the centre of this home.

Blending European and Australian influences, Greg Natale created the perfect home for his globetrotting clients. This bathroom – ‘one of our biggest indulgences,’ says the client – is a whimsical combination of De Gournay’s ‘Amazonia’ silk paper teamed with a pink onyx basin from Gemlook, a ‘Swan’ tap from Astra Walker, 1960s Murano sconces by Barovier & Toso and Natale’s ‘Presto’ tiles for Teranova.

Lebanese-born interior designer Claudia Skaff worked with MariaGroup to imbue this townhouse with pops of vivid colour. Ananbô’s ‘Les Voyages de Bâ’ wallpaper is the star of the bathroom, with its bespoke walnut and travertine vanity unit featuring Hansgrohe ‘Axor’ taps, while the mirrors are Italian designs from the 1970s.

De Gournay is renowned for its sumptuous wallcoverings. The owners of this storied Parisian property – once home to French novelist André Malraux – opted for an intricate hand-painted design from the British firm for a calming bucolic feel to the wall above this Boffi bathtub. White marble basins and flooring act as a canvas to really let the botanical pattern sing.
