WOW!house has become one of the most anticipated events in the UK’s design calendar. An immersive 600-square-metre showhouse, it has grown in scope since its launch in 2022, with the list of talents that have created rooms looking like a who’s who of contemporary interiors.
This year, from June 2 to July 2 2022, Design Centre Chelsea Harbour will play host to a new selection of names, who are creating rooms in collaboration with some of the world’s most exciting decorating brands.
There will be a total of 21 individual spaces, including a courtyard by Richard Miers and Munder Skiles and garden terrace by Perennials & Sutherland and Fettle Design. We will discuss the latter in detail in the next issue of ELLE Decoration – alongside a closer look at highlights like Albion Nord’s drawing room, Russell Sage’s intriguing immersive room, and De Rosee Sa’s bathroom with Ca’ Pietra.
A must-visit for interiors professionals and enthusiasts alike, WOW!house runs the whole length of the centre’s Design Avenue. Darren Price of ADAM Architecture, has been commissioned to create a dynamic façade — a fitting entrance for the creativity to be found inside – while The Gardenists are creating a new entrance garden in collaboration with Artorius Faber. The myriad of rooms within this, the fifth iteration of WOW!house, will be transformed into eclectic, bespoke spaces, offering the ultimate in decorating inspiration, all scented by Jo Malone. Look for hidden doors, special alcoves, rooms within rooms. It’s going to be a true treat for all of the senses.
Tickets for the event cost £28 (student tickets are £15), with a portion of each WOW!house ticket and funds from the opening-night gala going towards supporting United In Design’s Career Pathway Programme, offering year-long internships, personalised coaching and workplace access to create opportunities for underrepresented talent.
Plus, every visitor will receive a copy of the WOW!wonderbook – a keepsake guide to the WOW!house featuring interviews with the designers involved, as well as details of all the products used to create each room.
